Founded in 1996 by Dr. Shiv Nadar under the SSN Trust, SSNCE became fully autonomous in 2018 and is affiliated with Anna University. The college operates on a sprawling 227–230 acre eco-friendly campus in Kalavakkam, near Thiruporur on Rajiv Gandhi Salai (OMR)
